East African Community heads of state are in Nairobi, Kenya to witness the signing of the treaty of accession by the Democratic Republic of Congo to the EAC regional block.
President Uhuru Kenyatta today received his regional counterparts Felix Tshisekedi (DR Congo), President Kaguta Museveni (Uganda) and President Paul Kagame (Rwanda) at State House, Nairobi ahead of Friday’s signing of the treaty of accession to the EAC by the Democratic Republic of Congo
President Uhuru Kenyatta is hosting the meeting, where the regional multilateral body’s new map will also be unveiled, in his capacity as the Chair of the East African Community (EAC) Summit of Heads of State.
Regional leaders at State House, Nairobi this morning to witness DRC President Felix Tshisekedi and Chair of the EAC Summit of Heads of State, President Uhuru Kenyatta, sign the Treaty of Accession by the Democratic Republic of Congo to the East Africa Community.
The signing of the treaty of accession follows the admission of DR Congo into the EAC as the seventh member of the regional bloc during the virtual 19th Extraordinary Summit of EAC Heads of State chaired by President Kenyatta on March 29.
