People’s Liberation Party leader Martha Karua has been warned against poking her nose into issues of Tanzania and advised to concentrate on mending Kenya.

Speaking on Friday, Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) Vice Chairman Stephen Wasira revealed that while he respected Karua and her responsibilities, he said Karua had no right or jurisdiction to meddle in issues affecting Tanzania.

Karua has been vocal since the apprehension of Tanzania’s Chadema party opposition leader Tundu Lissu, advocating for his release and even flying to Tanzania to observe the treason case during its hearing.

However, while some view her move as a Pan-African advocacy effort aimed at promoting democracy and human rights, a section of leaders doesn’t agree with her.

According to Wasira, Karua had no right to travel to Tanzania and accuse the CCM Party of undermining Chadema and propagating the tension that has been witnessed in Tanzania.

”I listened to Martha Karua when she was here, speaking as a party leader, she alleged that CCM is afraid of Chadema, that is why it is seizing their leaders before the general elections. I want to boldly tell her, that here in Tanzania, there is no party that CCM can fear,” Wasira said.
