Officers from Anti-Terror Police Unit (ATPU) last night raided controversial pastor Ezekiel Odero’s church in Mavueni, Kilifi and seized a number of items that they claimed are supposed to undergo testing in Nairobi.

The team went to the New Life Centre and Church in a raid believed to have been backed by a court order.

This is even after the Registrar of Societies issued a notice to deregister the church, citing alleged failure to file returns.

Ezekiel’s lawyers, Cliff Ometa and Dunstan Omari revealed that the ATPU confiscated the items on Tuesday, claiming they needed to analyze them in Nairobi.

“The ATPU came to the church on Tuesday and seized the church’s communication items, computer drives, holy water, and handkerchiefs, stating that they were being taken for analysis,” Ombeta said.

Police are investigating Ezekiel’s links to the controversial Paul Mackenzi’s Shakahola massacre. So far 241 bodies have even been recovered from the shallow graves there.
