HIGH COURT DECLINES TO STOP AZIMIO’s DEMO’s
The High Court of Kenya on Monday declined to stop the scheduled three-day Azimio led demonstrations when it pushed the mention of the case to a date after the protests.
In his ruling, High Court judge Justice Lawrence Mugambi directed that the application and petition be filed in the next three days and responses within ten days and set the hearing date for July 21.
The case was filed by a litigant Martin Gitau against Azimio leader Raila Odinga and former President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Gitau sought court orders to compel Raila Odinga, Uhuru Kenyatta and Azimio La Umoja Coalition to compensate individuals and the public for any losses arising from demonstrations.
