UEFA are reportedly considering inviting Saudi club Al-Nassr to the 2024/2025 edition of the Champions League, as it’s considered one of the “3 most popular clubs” in the world.
The Champions League has had exclusively UEFA-affliated clubs competiting since its inception three decades ago. However, it’s now set to extend an invitation to Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr for next year’s edition, considering the popularity of the club in Europe.
The Champions League, one of the most prestigious football tournaments, is transitioning to a league format. This transition will kickstart a special invitation system, allowing teams outside Europe to participate. The inclusion of Al Nassr could be part of this new system, adding a broader, international perspective to the tournament.
