#Paris2024 : Kenya Athlete Medal winners Awarded By President Ruto
Athletes who won medals at the Paris 2024 Olympics today Thursday were awarded cash prizes by President William Ruto at the small palace in Eldoret. Speaking at the event, President Ruto congratulated the athletes for representing the country well and bringing good success. The Kenyan team finished 17th in the world in terms of gold medals. It won four gold, two silver and five bronze. The total number of medals was 11. Athletes who won gold received Ksh3 million. They are Beatrice Chebet who won two golds (5,000 meters and 10,000 meters), Faith Kipyegon (1,500 meters) and Emmanuel Wanyonyi (800 meters). Those who won money were given Ksh 2 million. Kipyegon and Ronald Kwemoi won silver in the 5,000 meters for women and men respectively.
