Mt Kenya MP Plan to cut ties with Raila Odinga. Say Political debt has been paid
The secretary general of ODM, Edwin Sifuna, has reacted to reports by some Jubilee members who said that they paid Raila’s debt after delivering 1 million votes from the Mount Kenya region. He has reminded them of the bargains and the promises they made in order for the former to be granted.
Sifuna revealed that Uhuru and his team were to get half of the government in addition to the Nairobi governorship in exchange for delivering 2.4 million votes from the region. He has called them out for being big on promises but small on delivering their part of the bargains. Mount Kenya was given the deputy president slot, which was occupied by Martha Karua.
Karua then became a serious threat for William Ruto in the central region and appeared as if she was going to get more for Azimio than Gachagua would have for Kenya Kwanza. However, she ended up underperforming. Her party failed to get even a single member of parliament. Together with her team in Jubilee, they are therefore considered to have failed the wider Azimio coalition.
