Kenyatta University Vice Chancellor Fired After Clash With Uhuru Over Land Saga
Kenyatta University Vice Chancellor, Paul Wainaina, hinted that he has been relieved of his duties.Wainaina told students that he was being pushed out and the University Council had been dissolved for refusal to cede land for the World Health Organization project.
Multiple reports indicated that Prof Wainana spoke to the university staff and students on Tuesday, July 12, where he informed them that this might be the last time he was addressing them as the Vice Chancellor.
He further claimed that the subdivision was done by the Ministry of Lands and that the National Lands Commission was tasked with preparing titles.
“The World Health Organization (WHO) to be allocated 30 acres, Africa Centre for Disease Control, 10 acres, and the Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral and Research Hospital 108 acres,” he stated.
