The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) chairperson Wafula Chebukati and his vice chair, Juliana Cherera, made their first public appearance on Monday, August 22, a week after the Bomas of Kenya drama.

The full commission was meeting candidates in the Kakamega and Mombasa gubernatorial elections that were suspended.

This was the first time the two appeared in public together a week after they went separate ways over the outcome of the presidential election.

While appearing at the Bomas of Kenya, they sat side-by-side as they listened to concerns raised by the candidates and fielded questions. Chebukati announced that the by-elections were postponed to August 29.
