Magistrate Monica Kivuti passes on after succumbing to injuries sustained on her thigh after she was shot by OCS Kipruto at Makadara Law Courts
She was targeted in the thigh following her delivery of a ruling in a case involving the wife of a senior police officer from Kericho County (later identified as the OCS Londiani) who had travelled to Nairobi for the hearing.
The court was sitting in a tent outside the main courtrooms due to lack of space and soon after the magistrate ruled on the matter, the police officer went behind the tent where he made an attempt on her life.
