Hellen Obiri of Kenya wins the women’s open-division of the 2023
Kenyan athlete Hellen Obiri has been crowned the winner of the New York City Marathon.
Obiri triumphed over her competition in the pro women’s open-division during the Sunday Marathon after clocking a time of 2:27:23.
The win marks Obiri’s second victory of the year after winning the Boston Marathon, which is considered the world’s oldest annual marathon, with a time of 2:21:38.
