Richarlison’s bicycle kick against Serbia has been voted the goal of the 2022 World Cup, FIFA confirmed on Friday.

Richarlison was the man of the hour in Brazil’s opening match of the 2022 World Cup against Serbia at Lusail Iconic Stadium in Qatar. 

The goal sparked much conversation on social media, and is an early contender for goal of the tournament. Previously, the Tottenham Hotspur forward broke a 0-0 deadlock in the 62nd minute, scoring the first goal of the match on a rebound. It was Richarlison’s World Cup debut.
