Azimio leader Raila Odinga has suffered a huge blow after one of his principals Ali Roba, of the United Democratic Movement (UDM) party, joined the Kenya Kwanza allianceΒ on Thursday, August 18.

UDM party with its 7 MPs, two senators, two governors and 35 MCAs join Kenya Kwanza from Azimio even before the swearing in

Led by party leader and Mandera  Senator-elect Ali Roba, the group met Ruto at Deputy President’s official residence in Karen, Nairobi.

Also present were Marsabit Governor-elect Mohamed Ali and his Mandera counterpart Mohamed Adan.

Legally, however, the UDM party is still a member of the Azimio coalition and can only leave the alliance in December.
