Wundanyi area mp Hon. Danson Mwashako commissioned a 500 capacity domitory and a three Classroom block at Dr.Agrey highschool that were funded jointly by NG-CDF, Parents. Mwashako is also an alumni of Dr Agrey and in 2018, he championed a fund raising even that raised 15miliion.
Through his facebook post he said
“The Mighty Dr. Aggrey and the Mighty Infrastructure improvement. Today in another nostalgic event in my former school I commissioned A 500 capacity Dormitory and a Three Classroom block that were funded jointly by NG-CDF, Parents and a fundraiser event I championed in 2018, where Kes. 15 million was raised. Being the most performing school in my constituency, I pushed for a community class immidiately I become an MP.
After a normal form one selection, I seek for 45 additional slots for the local students from my Constituency’s primary schools. Pupils who come from difficulty environment e.g Paranga, Daku or even Kishushe etc, who may not have attained a minimum required marks for Dr. Aggrey entry we give them the chance to join the community class.
Also those who do well but still end up being called to schools far away and off a grade lower performance wise also we redirect them to this class. The rationale of this is to make sure we increase the population of our students in this Mighty Dr. Aggrey so that we have more of our own students enjoying this school with good facilities & culture and discipline. Remember we keep tabs of our number of students joining university and Dr. Aggrey has contributed immensely to the growth our numbers, 53 in 2018, 84 in 2019, 108 in 2020 and 172 in 2021. Dr aggrey has been doing very well coming number 2 in KCSE everytime in Taita Taveta.
Today they promised to beat all competition and emerge top. This is good news and thus I will do everything possible to deliver their dream Scania bus l if this is realised. Present included Mr. Jillo -Director Education Sub County, BOM & PA members, parents and all teachers”
