Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina flees, army says interim government to be formed

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has fled her residence amid protests, with no word on her whereabouts. Reports confirms that Sheikh Hasina has resigned.

Protesters are reportedly storming the prime minister’s palace.

During the riots, protesters stormed a prison in Narsingdi district and released hundreds of inmates before setting the building on fire.

Security forces opened fire on the protesters. More than 300 people were killed during the riots.
